Every business has a responsibility to minimise its environmental impact and we are no exception. We consider our workplace practices and supply chain to build sustainability into our operations.
DPD Electric Vehicle Deliveries
We use DPD as our primary delivery company as since 2018, they have committed to transitioning to an all-electric fleet. We are located close to the company’s eco-depot in Bicester, and in 2023, 910 customer orders (13.23%) were delivered by an electric vehicle, saving 251kg CO2. DPD’s eco-fund has also contributed over £1 million to charities including the RSPB and City to Sea.
Treefo Customer Feedback
We use Feefo for customer feedback. This helps us to gather valuable insight into customer experiences and our high score has resulted in us achieving the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award. When we chose this as our feedback platform, we also signed up for Treefo. This scheme funds tree planting on our behalf when customers leave reviews.
Local Packaging Supplier
Protective packaging is essential. It ensures that our letterbox and parcel box orders reach our customers in pristine condition, which minimises returns and waste. Fortunately, Aylesbury Box Company is a local manufacturer which supplies us with sustainable cardboard packaging. Located less than a mile from our premises, they help keep our carbon footprint down.
Empty Recycling Bins
We often receive a notification from our waste collection company, stating that we hadn’t left our bin out on the designated day. This isn’t a case of forgetfulness, it’s because we aim to reuse all materials. Cardboard sheets and boxes, void fill and more are carefully unwrapped and flattened. We use them for padding between pallets or additional protection when shipping heavier goods.
Repair not Replace
Our quality letterboxes are built to European quality standards. This means they are durable and weather-resistant and are supplied with a warranty. However, they occasionally get damaged. We don’t want customers to replace a whole unit when a repair can be made. Therefore, we keep a small stock of spare parts which can be supplied and fitted if required.
