Twelve years ago, I launched my business. With a name like Letterbox4You, it was clear what products I intended to focus on! I’d met with several specialist manufacturers in Europe and valued the quality of their design and craftsmanship. These were quality products and there was a market for them in the UK. Of equal importance to me was to build a business that provided the online shopping experience that I wanted. Now, buying online can be the best way to find exactly what you are looking for. No trawling around the shops to find the closest option from the limited stock. You look, you find and you order! However, after the order has been placed, the experience can vary.
From the outset, I wanted to deliver a positive online shopping experience to all customers. So, I considered my expectations when buying online and developed a business model that achieved that every time our post boxes were ordered.

When I’ve made a purchase, I still want to be valued as a customer. That means, I like to receive a confirmation and soon after an update to say my package is on its way. Do you like a long wait for your delivery? Me neither, so, from a business planning perspective, I prioritised good stock management, efficient processes and a competent team.
As a customer, I also want to receive my order in pristine condition; with no scratches or damaged parts. Now, post boxes are bulky and weighty items, so they need good protection during storage and transit. I found a great, local packaging manufacturer and my packing team trialled some different options. We soon found a workable solution and take care when packing every post box.

When you are sending out multiple orders a day, things don’t always go to plan and at this point communication is essential. If there is a delay or another issue, I want the company to let me know and give me the option to cancel the order. If my goods arrive and parts are missing or it doesn’t match my needs, I want to be able to easily contact the seller, not spend an age trying to find their phone number. And, I don’t want a battle to resolve issues or get a refund.
For these reasons, I ensured that our contact details are easy to find on our website, email communications and paperwork. I have employed a fantastic team, who are highly informed on our products and excel in positive and helpful communications. They are happy to advise on the most suitable product or delivery times. What’s more, all our post boxes come with a warranty, we are quick to resolve issues and we have a ‘no quibble’ returns policy.
