Introducing our enhanced security post box

External post boxes are great for home security. They reduce the risk of criminal activity including fireworks being posted into the home and thieves fishing through the letterbox for keys and other means of access. The question is, how secure are the external post boxes?

All mailboxes manufactured in Europe have to comply with standards aimed to protect mail in the hold. This includes weather resistance, robust materials and anti-theft features. However, some homeowners and building developers are looking for added reassurance and have enquired about extra secure mailboxes.

In response, we have developed Cerberus. This extra secure post box solution features:

• A three-point lock – most post boxes are fitted with a robust central lock. For additional security, the lock fitted in Cerberus fixes at three points; the top, middle and base of the door.
• A three-hinged door – an extra hinge holds the door even more firmly in place.
• A double baffle plate – the baffle plate is positioned behind the opening to restrict access. We have extended this feature, so it is twice as long. This makes it difficult to reach in with hands or tools and prevents any mail from being extracted. We have designed this baffle plate extension so that it is still possible to deliver letters up to A4 in size.
• No Window into the hold – many post boxes have a small window that allows owners to check if any mail has been delivered. We’ve removed this feature, so there is no view of the contents.

Cerberus is a wall mounted post box and includes three pre-drilled holes for secure attachment to your property. It is suitable for internal or external installation and is manufactured from powder-coated, galvanised steel for weather resistance and durability. It is supplied with a 2-year warranty and complies with Secured by Design requirements.

We supply Cerberus, in black or anthracite grey, as a post box for homeowners. We can also combine multiple units for use in multi-occupancy buildings including flats and office blocks. All units are supplied with two keys and we can provide vinyl or self-adhesive aluminium numbers and/or letters for personalising this secure mailbox.
